Systems Unit / Network Planning Department

The Systems Unit is responsible for technology and equipment in the Armed Forces' fixed command support systems, as well as technical and infrastructural design and architecture of the joint defense information infrastructure. The Network Planning Department, where the position is located, is responsible for project planning and production of services, as well as configuration of network equipment in the Armed Forces' fixed telecommunications network (FTN). We are about 50 employees located in several locations.

Main Responsibilities

You will work with project planning, production, and configuration management of services in an IP-based network. We operate in the Armed Forces' fixed telecommunications network (FTN) with demanding users, all of whom have a role in Sweden's total defense. Examples of operations that require our involvement include air and sea operations, overseas missions, and all activities involving multiple units in the Armed Forces. Additionally, you will provide technical support within the area of specialization to the operations and management organization as well as decision-makers. The Armed Forces are experiencing strong growth, so the tasks may evolve over time. You will work in a team consisting of experienced colleagues who will help you integrate into the role in the best way.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a focus on IT, or equivalent relevant experience assessed as equivalent by the employer
• Good communication skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing
• Driver's license at least B

DESIRABLE

• Cisco certifications, such as CCNA/CCNP
• Good knowledge of the Armed Forces' fixed telecommunications network (FTN)
• Experience handling classified information
• Current and relevant experience regarding project planning and configuration of IP-based networks
• Experience working with DNS, firewalls, routers, and switches
• Knowledge of cryptosystems
• Good knowledge of the function, structure, and expansion process of telecommunications and its infrastructure

In the Armed Forces, the position is referred to as a production engineer. The position is a permanent full-time employment as a civilian employee and begins with a 6-month probationary period (not applicable for employed personnel in the Armed Forces). Work location Bålsta. The position involves business trips both during the day and for longer periods. You will have the opportunity to undergo combat training to be able to handle personal protective equipment. Start date by agreement.
